Moving with Kids and Pets in Dubai: A Parent’s Guide

Kids and pets feel moving stress most. A little planning keeps everyone happy.

For Kids

• Tell them early and frame it as an adventure. Visit the new villa/community first if possible.
• Let them pack a personal box — toys, blanket, favourites.
• Set up their room FIRST on moving day. Familiar bedding = good first night.
• Keep snacks, water and entertainment in your car, not the truck.

For Pets

• Dubai moves and pets: keep cats/dogs in one quiet room (or with a friend) on moving day — open doors are escape risks.
• Update microchip and municipality registration with the new address.
• Set up food, water and litter in the new home before they arrive.
